LAWERENCE OF ARABIA
APPLICATION FOR DISCHARGE
LONDON, March 24.
Air-craftsman 1 Shaw,' otherwise the famous “Lawieiice of Arabia,” has applied for his discharge from the Air Force. , '
Colonel T. E. Lawrence changed his name to Shaw in 1927. He had previously carried out exploration work in Arabia and rendered valuable aid during the war because of his intimate knowledge of the Arabs and his remarkable disguises as a -native. His exploits earned him the title, "Lawrence of Arabia.” Later he was adviser on Arab' affhirs at the Colonial Office.
When he changed his name he enlisted in the Air Force as a private, and for a time was in India.
