W AIM ATE, March 25
A month’s drought, following a previous short rainfall, has broken, 46 points falling to noon. This has saved the situation for winter feed. Pastures were baked and rape and turnips were almost dead.
Heavy rain commenced last night and continues. All outside events for this afternoon had to be postponed. Reports from South Canterbury districts indicate that heavy rain, is general.
