KOKATAHI STOCK SALE.

Messrs M. Hduston and Cb. l’eport: We held a sal© of surplus stock at the Kokatahi saleyards on Wednesday last, the yarding consisting of 152 head of cattle, and 68 slieop. and lambs. Quite a large proportion of the entry comprised fat cattle, which were disposed of at- prices consistent with those ruling at fat stock sales. There was a large attendance of buyers, including butchers from Hokitika. Kumara, Greymouth and Runanga, and practically the whole of the cattle yarded were cleared under the hammer. Breeding ewes were difficult to sell and were mostly passed in.

We sold as follow:—For J. W. Kelly, 20 ewes at ss; for T. P. MehaiTy, 2 runners at £3 17s 6d, 2 at £2 13s, 1 bullock .at £4 10s, 6 fat steers at £5; for N. Harris, 20 wcaner calves at 21s; for John McCcfraxack, 4 18mos. steers at £3 3s; for M. Bail'd, 20 wcaner calves at 23is; for A. Wrobleske, 4 fat steers at £4 12s 6s, 2 at £3 2s Bd, 2. runners at £2 os, 2 store cows at 325, 6d , If at cow at 37 s Bd, 1 cow and cblf at £1 18s 6d; for Mrs Cron, 7 calves at 10s, 1 fat cow at £3 125,; for' W.. Clarke 6 fat heifers at £2 17s 6d, 8-fa.t bullocks at £4 2s 61, 4 fat cows at £2 15s; for J. A. Hurt, 4 step'','' at £2 l()s, 1 cow at £1 2s 6d: for Mrs O. Meharry, 1 springer at £5 ss, 1 runner at £2 7s 6d, 7- 21yr. steers, at £3 10s, 2 fat bullocks at’ £5 17s 6d, 4 steers at £3, 1 fat heifer at £2 15s; for T. Ecclesneld, 5 fat steers at £4 ; for T. P.
