NO SATISFACTORY STATEMENT

SYDNEY, March 18

At present giving a sentence of imprisonment for six months for contempt of Court. Mrs Aime e Velle Edolg, a Sydney society woman, wag again before the Bankruptcy Court recently fo r further examination by the Registrar

When the Official Receiv e r asked Mi’g Edols if, during 1927 about £45,630 had passed through Her hands she answer*u that she coufd not rmemb e r the exact amount.

The Official Receiver informed the registrar that this large amount bad disappeared an d could not be accounted for. Mr« Edols had not died o r handed him material documents and books. Although she was still in priso n ehe treated the Court contemptuously and disgracefully. Owing to her attitude, his hands were completely tied, and until she elected to make a satisfactory statement, she would have to remain

in prison. When Mrs Edols told the Registrar that 'she desired to apologise to the Court for not filing her accounts, ghe was informed that the Court did not desire to hear her apology. In answer to the Registrar, s he snid she would be willing to file accounts and produce material documents in connection with her bankruptcy. On the Registrar stating that arrangements would be mad e to enable lie r to carry out her promise, Mi's Edojg was taken back into custody.
