The Senate declined by 24 to 16 to ■pass the,second reading of the Gath Bill, which, it refused to consider pendnegotiations between the executive and the British Government,., with, a view to an- .amicable settlementa--; Be Valera opposed 'Anglo-Irish ■ uegd'tiation's. The constitution provides for the legislation of the Bill early, in April, despite Senate opposition.
