A large six-wheeled motor-lorry, di’iv3?if hy Mr. John White, went over a steep cliff in the- Mangitotuko Gome, about 23 miles from Te Kuiti. The driver was rounding a corner in a heavy rain squall and in trying to avoid a stray- bullock; on the road the lorry went over the edge and dropped about 200 feet into the gorge.

The driver fell out o ’the vehicle as if-, ,-olled down the' cliff, and escaped with slight injuries, although he suffered from shock The 1 lorrv was apparently not severely damaged.
