There was a sensational happening off’ Ha-Luma road, 'i.eair AVaiptfkairan, about 8.4.0 l'arsf night, when Mr* Catherine Davise, aged 08, alone, with three sons and her daughter out, was called upon bv a man who asked for Air Davie®. She returned to the doer and was -••ei/.cd by the visitor, who said “Came'.'on, money or your life,” and -dragged bon outside. Ho throw. a cloth over her head and called to (me or two others, “All’s well. ’ The first man held her arm's, and the other, of others, ransacked the home, switching off the electric light at the meter. The sum of £3 10s was stolen.
The thieves then left, warning MVs Davies not to follow them. She thinks they went- in the direction of Takapau. They were in a car. Mies Davies arrived some ten .minutes later. The ;,police were notified.
