AUCKLAND, March 6
Knocked .down, by a, light motor van in Remuera. Rond • to-night j a Severn year-old girl, Hilda Joy 'Skegg,. was killed almost .instantly. She 'wag- the daughter of, Wilfred Skegg, - insurance manager. The van was driven by John Charges Alfred Crawley, farmer, who was returning home after having taken -milk to th e city. A tragic feature of the accident is that- the girl(s father, -realising there had been an accident, pushed in his car to obtain a doctor without knowing it. was his daughter who was killed. He believed Ins child’ was .still in the. dairy. It was not until he returned-' with a doctor that he ihado the tragicdiscovery.
