HUMAN PINCUSHION
NON-SUSCEPTIBILITY TO PAIN. A human pin-cushion, a New York resident who feels no pain when sharp pins, needles or- instruments are thrust into his body, is providing "scientific men with much food for thought, He is a theatre ticket taker, musician, exvaudeville artist and chauffeur. The patient does,not remember ever feeling any pain except a readache. He does remember that his parents and physicians complimented him on his “grit” on various occasions of boyliooa accidents, such as breaking his leg and accidentally shooting himself, and, at another time, burning a finger. Hut he claims that he felt no pain to cry over. Fur a year and a half this remarkable man made use of his peculiar faculty in a vaudeville act-' in which he allowed some man in the audience to come up on the stage and push pills into him. As many as 00-or 60 would he stuck into, him as far as their heads at one. penormance. The patient himself explains it by saying he concentrates on something else.
