SECESSION MOVE
WESTRALIAN MOVE IS FUTILE. (Australian Press Association J. (Received this day at 11.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, March 2. "The Federal Attorney-General (Mr Latham) emphasising the'futility of the West Australian secession referendum, said that under, the constitution it wais legally impossible, for any single State by any method whatsoever, to disclaim its status of a State, and revert to the position of a colony or an independent country.
Mr Latham added that a vote might gravely damage the credit of the whole of Australia.
