TERROR BY MAIL
AN ANONYMOUS LETTER FIEND.
Threatening anonymous letters have thrown the village of Domsthorpe, Leicestershire, into a ferment. Two of. the worst letters were received by two women. Each bore an arrow pointing to the signature “Beware.” One of the women is Mrs C. Stansfield, who states that the letter she received read: “I am just writing to let you know you are -being watched night after night. Be- careful where you go or you will be dropped on all at once.” Since the receipt of the letter she has had a woman friend to sleep in the house with her. ‘“I have never done any harm to a single person,” she said, “and I cannot understand why I should have been picked out. This has upset my nerves and 1 hope the writer will be traced.” Then Mrs Heafield received a letter. This read: “I am writing to let you know that you are being watched by night and day, so beware, as it means grim death to you.” She als 0 cannot understand why she has been singled out. Other people have also received threats.
