Trotting.—A meeting of the committee of the newly formed Trotting , Club was held last evening, Air T. Palmer presiding. The following permanent appointments were made:— chairman, Air T. Palmer; vice-chair-man. Air Al. Coukson; secretary and treasurer, Mr AI. Houston; starter, Air 11. Butand; judge, Air D. J. Evans; clerk of course, Mr.W. .Hall; clerk of scales, Mr J. Fowler. Air R. Wells was apopinted to the committee. Bowling.—-A meeting of the recently formed Hokitika ■ Bowling Club was held last evening Air W. Duncan presiding over an attenance of about fifty. 1 The following trustees were elected: — Alessrs Duncan, W. E. AVilHums, W. Dray, H. L. Alichell, A. J. Morton and J. J. Breeze. New members were appointed as follow:—-Messrs O’Connor, Debenham, Shannon, AY. Free, AV. Robinson, R. Al. King, J. Atandl, C. C. Empson, J. Breeze, junr, and Sergeant-Major Aliller. Alining.—The latest mining returns are:—Pactolus No 1 (138 hours), 63 oz; Pactolus No 2620 z; No Town (week), 430 z.
Alasonic.—The annual installation of Lodge Pacific 1229 E.C., took place last evening as follows:—AV.M., Bro. S. H. Evans; S. AY. Bro. I. .Brown; J.W., Bro. T. Palmer; S.D., Bro. L. Cooper; J.D., Bro. E /Hughes; sec.. Biro. H. B. Bock; treas., Bio. R. AA’ells; organist, Bro. AA r . Bray; I.GBro. AAC Nissen.
