LOWER DUES POSSIBLE
LONDON, February 20,
The traffic on the Suez C ana l in 1932 totalled 28,340,000 tons, a reduction of s(f per cent., compared with 1931. British tonnage declined by 903,000 tons, but .still comprised 55i pe r cent, of the total.
The Paris correspondent of the “Financial Times” says 'Suez . Caml shares a/r e falling heavily, owing to the belief that, despite official contradictions, the directors ar, e contemplating a reduction in tolls. It is believed th e company will otherwise lose indefinitely the greater part of the British traffic. Well-in formed London 'circles believe that a united front of British interests will secur e a reduction in a few months.
