At the third' Christchurch .‘wool ,«a ! le 25,C00 bales wer e .offered. . Competition -was strong .from thp Continent for most ■classes, but particularly pieces. On ,the January sale, h-ilfbreds and fine threequarter' bi’eds ,wer e a halfpenny down,; crossbreds a .penny easier, .and medium good, pieces unchanged, but very best pieces w.er.p inclined to ..be a trifle easier.
The wool offered was not, the .feame high quality as that at the Ist sale, and was inclined to ,bo dusty .and, heavy in condition.
The full hi prices is no greater than expected. Up til! noon the top price wps 13Jd, for.eleven bales of supe r cQrrieda]e ewe, th,-? -purchaser being a local mill. Half bred made up to 11-]d, merino : to and three-quarter bred up to lOid.
