N.Z. FRUIT EMBARGO
TRADE WITH AUSTRALIA.

SYDNEY, February 21
As a result of the Federal Cabinet decision, the whole question of trade relations with New Zealand will probably be explored in the near future. The position created by New Zealand’s embargo on fruit was discussed, and it was agreed that other trade difficulties with New Zealand should be examined. The proposal to send a Commonwealth Minister to the Dominion was nou adopted. Instead, the New Zealand Government will be invited to send a representative here. Mr Lyons said that it was the desire of the Commonwealth Government to endeavour to bring about the development and extension of trade between the two countries.
N.Z. INVITED TO CONFER, (Received this day at 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, February 23. Mr M. E. Lyons announced, that, following tho discussion by Cabinet on trade with New Zealand, a cable has b->en ,7.nt in the Prime Minister of the Dominion, inviting him to eend a Minister to Australia for the purpose of conferring with the Commonwealth .Ministers.
