Tun honourable connection of Dr. Teiehehnann with the Westland Hospital institution is well known throughout the Coast and further aileld. For a, long term Dr. Teiehehnann was Surgeon vSiyverintendent, and during that period established the fame of the institution abroad. His first appointment dates hack 36 years, and his service since that time has been devoted to his important office. There was a break during a period of honourable war service, when Dr. Teichelinann was absent from local duty on leave. Since resigning from the position of Surgeon 'Superintendent, he has occupied the post of Consulting Surgeon, and has given able service in that capacity also. Dr. Teichelmann has become closely identified with the place, and has taken civic honours. He has be-eia an ardent worker for the Progress League, and has assisted to widely advertise the district. His record as an at pirnst is well known in mountaineering circles, and his excursions into remote and difficult places helped to cultivate hjs natural aptitude or phlotogjrapby, in which he has done work of a high order, and examples of his art have been widely circulated in the illustrated papers of the Dominion. He has become thoroughly identified with the Coast, and is now one of the best known of the Coasters. He still leads an active life and is a sports’ votary of repute. He is always willing to do what he can for the publicity of the Coast and a great deal is owing to him for his artistic work in that direction. But be will be remembered always for bis hospital work, and his devotion to duty whatever the time of call, and remote though some of the distances wore to be travelled before the motor car had come into service. \o doubt Dr. Teich elm ana can look hack with much interest to those claws of enrlv nio r, ce n 'ing and the good he was able to do for suffering humanity. Pcrno- may he be spared to enjov those happy recollections of his busy life.
