SYDNEY, February 18
An explosion occurred iu a new speed boat, built here for the Fijian Air Force. Walter, Kuhl, aged eighteen, a mechanic, was burled into the air, but he* was rescued .practically unharmed. The boat was burned to the water’s edge. Kuhl was beneath the cabin preparing to start the engine for a test trial when, due. to an laccumuilation of petrol fumes, the explosion occurred. It startled people on the harbour front. The boat was fitted with valuable engines, and. it cost over £IOOO. , : :
