A spectacular fire gutted th e nail factory of S. Cook and Company, South Melbourne. Eight hundred gallons of fuel oil were ignited and sent flames tliig-h. in th e air, and valuable modern machinery was ruined. Th e firemen hae a difficult task preventing the, spread to adjoining timber yards. The damage is in the vicinity of £50,000.
