FRENCH PROPOSAL CONSIDERED

PATHS, February 15

Paris is seriously considering the creation cf a woman’s police force. A proposal submitted to the Municipal Council by M. Armani! Massard says that it is time France followed the example of England and other countries in -which police in petticoats have rendered valuable service.

The principal duties of the women police, said M. Armand in an interview, would he to witch parks' and public squares, to keep a careful eye on women arriving alone at the great railway stations. A carefully trained force might protect many women from the dangers to which ing'oranco of the capital exposed them. Wearing no uniform, but with a special badge, the women police would know the habitues of stations, against whom new arrivals at the stations. should bo warned, and would be able to safeguard their sis<*rs in way which could not be attempted by uniformed policemen.
