i The Wanganui Jcckey Club’s ! autumn meeting opened to-day in dull j weather, but bright sunshine ruled inter in the afternoon. The course was in great order and the attendance fair. The totalisator on the win and place system for the first time here handled £0,022 compared with 799 on the opening day last year. Results:— Tayforth Handicap.—2 Green Linnet, 1.; 1 Royal Bengal, 2; 4 Ganpat 3. Won by half a neck. Time 1.31. Earle Stakes.— 2-2 High Faintin’, 1; 1-1 Eminent, 2; 0-5 Shrewd 3. Won by a head. Time 2.8 1-5. Victory Hack Handicap.—3-3 Morratb, 1:,4-5 Davistoek, 2; 2-2 Arikitea, 3. Won bv two lengths. Time 1.43 2-5. Flying Handicap.— Arigus, 1; 3-3 Pomp, 2; 5-4 Aston, 3. Won by half a head. Time 1.13 3-5. Petre Hack.—6-7 Haulbowline, 1; 2-2 Clangor, 2; Peschiera, 3. Won by ;hreo lengths. Time 1.13 4-5.
