FOR REDUCTION OF X.Z EXPORTS.

WKIAINGTOX, February 18.
The information that- informal discussions are taking, place between the Imperial authorities and the Governments of various Dominions on the best means of overcoming the position which lias arisen through the over-im-portation. of dairy produce into the United Kingdom is contained in a statement made, by the Prime Minister Air Forties, who expressed confidence in the ultimate outcome of the negotiations.
Al r Forbes said that through the High, Commissioner, Sir T. Wilford there had come a n invitation to -make •suggestions, and. the Government had referred the- question to the Dairy Expert Board, .which would meet to.morrow to consider the situation. The Board would make recommendations to the Government, which would forward its suggestions to the High Commissioner for transmission to the British Ministry.
Any restriction made, lie said, must apply to foreign as well, as to Dominion supplies of dairy produce.
