WELLINGTON, February 16. For a uj iSideraole time the members of various Aero Clnbs have been 'onrerned by periodic police prosecutions against pilots making passenger flights on Sundays. There wri? a considerable stir -, at: New Plymouth one Sunday when ..the -police took the N name of -Sir Charles Kings ford Smith X and some of his assistants. A story >, reached Australia that h e had been arrested. ... -
As the result of this, a telegram was ,-ent- by Mr. G. ■M. Sponce, president of the N.Z. Aei’o Club, Blenheim . to Mr Fortbes protesting against the police taking, action against .Sir Charles Kings ford Smith.
Mr Forbes, in reply, has telegraphed : “Have had inquiries made regarding th e subject matter of youir telegram. 1 find that there never was any intention on the part of the police to prosecute Air Commodore ,Sir Charles Kingsfo,rd Smith for Sunday flying, nor is any such prosecuting proposed.
