RESULTS OF TO-DAY’S, PLAY* The annual tournament of the West Coast Centr© of Dominion B°wling Centre commenced this morning on the Hokitika iClub, and , Mental Hospital greens. The weather of the past few days has been of such a nature that the green have been considerably affected,
and are much glower than would have been the case had i the weather been fine. . \ .
The tournament was opened without formality this morning ■ at : , 8.30 o’clock, the rinks competition being commenced. There will be three games to-day and three more to.morrow. Thos e playing on the Hokitkia green to-day will play on the Mental greetn to-morrow, and vice versa. Both greens are looking in capital order but the running is 'bound to be heavy. ,
A strong ladies’ committee ig jn charge, of the refreshments, morning and afternoon tea being provided. ■ The general public are 'invited to attend the greens each day. There should certainly be some capital exhibitions given of favourite summer pastime. After (heavy rain most ol the aright pi tty wae able to commence on time with the green heavy.
