END OF WEEK’S CELEBRATIONS. (Per Press Association — Copyright.) NAPIER, January 30. Final scenes of gaiety marked the closing of the carnival on Saturday evening, when a crowd, estimated in the vicinity of 25,000 people were in the streets. A masked parade included over two thousand people., and was headed by three bands. The weather was fine, and a midnight Auld Lang Syne was sung by thousands ay a fitting finale to a week of jollity.
