FOREIGNERS'.UNDER SCRUTINY.
WHOLESALE EXODUS FORECAST. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LOS ANGELES, January 28. ; A 'wholesale exodus of foreign film talbnt from Hollywood was forecast .today, by Murray W. Garsson, special assistant to the United States Secretary of Labour, who announced that all foreign actresses, actors and technical were under scrutiny. ■ •Mr Garsson hias inaugurated a longheralded Government drive, by arresting John Farrow, the screen writer, a familiar figure at the film, colony’s social gatherings' on a. charge of overstaying his leave. , Farrow said that he was a native of Australia.
It was alleged that he first entered the United States as a seaman. Hi's screen plays include “The Wheel of Life,” “Wolf Song-;”' “Ladies of the Mob,” and “The .Woman from Moscow.”
