McGRiATH BEATS VINES. MEI BOURNE, Jan. 27. At the Australian tennis championships, in the men’s singles, quarterfinal, Vivian McGrath, the boy ■player, (VJPeated Vines (wforlcl’s champion), 6—2, 2—B, B—6, 7—5. Vines netted more than usual, but McGrath returned his lightning-like services perfectly. McGrath’s backhand was the deciding factor. In the semi-final. Crowford defeated Allison 6—2, 3—6, 3—6, 6—o, 6—3*
