MEN REFUSE TO JOIN “REDS.”
(Per Press Association — Copyright.)
WANGANUI, January 25.
Trouble is brewing in an unemployment camp five miles from Raetihi, and some members who will not link up with the “Reds” have been driven i out of the camp, after being subjected to the most abusive language, and have sought police protection. On Tuesday evening a secret ballot | was taken among the men in the camp whether they should be asked to leave, and the voting, decided by a narrow .margin, was that they should go at breakfast on the following morning. Three men, over whom trouble arose, were ordered to get up and sit at another table. Later they were followed out of the camp and abused. It is gathered from the Public Works Department that interesting developments are due to take place at any moment.
