In a return released by the Minister or Mines, the Hon. C. E. Macmillan, lb is -shown that the amount of gold sold to the banks during the last year was 165,827 ounces; valued at £706,595. Although the figures showing the exports of gold from the Dominion for Lite same period are not available, they -will approximate very closely to the value of gdtd sold to the banks.
