COCKROACH RACING IN PARIS.
LONDON, January 21
Cockroach tracing has been imported from the Riviera, to Montparnasse,
Paris, and impecunious artists who cannot soil pictures try to win the
price of their dinner bv “backing their fancy.” The “course’.’ is about- 12ft long, and i s made oi glass,, partitioned into 10 lanes. The cockroaches are placed at the starting-gate. When the gate is i lifted a Brilliant light comes on, and as cockroaches dislike light they make it rush to the inviting darkness at '•the end of the lane.
