The Wellington R.C. summer meeting concluded at Trentham to-day in line, cool weather. There was a largo attendance. The track was soft. The tote handled £43,676, a total for tho meeting of £94,447 as against £103,193 last summer, a decrease of £8,746. An inquiry was held into the crossing by Aiguille on Eminent in the Thorndon Handicap. After hearing the evidence no action was taken-.
Melrose Handicap:—(4-3) Kama] Pasha I ; (7-8) Chile 2; (12-13) Eupator 3. Won by 3 lengths. Time 1.281-. Summer Handicap:—(ll-11) Seatoun .l; (4-4) Red Heckle. 2; (6-7) Shatter -3. Won by a head. Time--2.9.
Tborndon Handicap :—(7-7) Miladi 1; (1-1) Aiguille 2;.(12-10) Eminent 3. Won by' a head. Time '1.405. City Handicap—(4-4) Lordly Knight 1; (5-5) Pomp 2; (7-6) Cricket Bat 3. Won by -J- a head. Time 1.11.2. Kaitoke Hack : — l (s-10) Navalio 1; (3-3) Goo:! Hunting 2; (1-2) Shining Gold 3. Won by a nock.
