BURNED’ WHILE STOKING.

HAMILTON, January 23. While -stoking a furnace at the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company’s factory at Horbtiu this morning,-j’ia factory manager, Mr John F. Camming, received severe burns on y.hjs right hand and arm. He was .admitted to : the Waikato Hospital. .His condition is stated to be not serious.

As the result of a -sudden backward movement of a stationary -motor-lorry this morning,. ami eight-year-old boy, Ivan Lamb," of Huht-ly West, had a leg crushed. The lorry suddenly moved backward down a'slight slope, a rear wheel passing over the boy’s leg. ;- : i v The injured lad was admitted to the Hospital suffering from shock. >' His condition is reported to tp improving.

BUTCHER INJURES HAND. _ WHANGAREI January 23. A butcher, Mr C. Belson, aged 25, of Whangarei, while working this morning, severely cut his right hand with a butcher’s knife. He was admitted to the Whangarei Hospital. His condition is satisfactory.

MAN’S SUDDEN DEATH

AUCKLAND, January 23,

The death occurred suddenly at Cowes Bay, Waiheke Island, yesterday morning of Mr William Burnett, aged 50. Mr Burnett had been engage ed the previous evening to work in. the kitchen of a boardinghouse owned by Mr A. Insley and while ho was at work he collapsed and died.

MAN FOUND SHOT. TE AWAMUTU, January 23. Walter F. Middlebrook, a single man, aged 33, was found this afternoon in a vacant section witn a bullet wound in the head and a pearifle beside the body.
