IDLE CEMENT WORKS

BINS AT PORTLAND FULL.

WHANGAREI, January 12

There is no change in the position cf Wilson (N.Z.) Portland Cement Company’s works at Portland which were (closed just before Christmas and have not been reopened :since the holidays owing to the bins being full of cement and to the lack of orders. It is not known when the works will be reopened. The works manager, Air T. H. Wilson, states that the earliest date will be February 1. The date on which the works will reopen depends entirely upon the orders received for cement.
