THE SOUTHERN SUB-ASSN. COMPETITIONS CONTINUED. The Southern Cricket Sub-Associa-tion's competitions Avero continued during the week-end in ideal weather. Playing at Ruatapu, Kanieri secured a three point win, while in the junior grade, both Hokitika teams registered a victory . JUNIOR GRADE. Playing at, Rimu,- Hokitika B beat the home, team byceight wickets. The visitors; mad.e, 165.,. (Pierson 41, G. Stapleton .44, fUovgan 42), Agnow taking. G for 49. Rimu replied with •86 (Lewis 33). Morgan took 5 for 43. Rimu scored 135, in their second innings (Lewis 32, Agnew 23, Clifton 17). Hokitika secured the necessary 57 runs for the loss of two pickets (Stapleton 28 not out, Dowell 23 not ..ut). •
Playing at the Mental ground, Hokitika A beat Ross by 3 runs. Hokitika made 42 and 61 (Childs 19), Ross replying with 32 and 68 (Re Bakker 15, Renin 12, Jack Jones 11.) For Hokitika, Barnhill took 6 for 3 and 5 for 27, and I. Olson 4 for 23.
Bowling for Rosa, He veldt took 6 for 22. and Jack Jones 3 for 8 in the first innings, ivhile Renia took 9 for 16 in the second.
