At the annual, meeting of the New Zealand Athletic, Cycling .and Axemen’s Union, the following remit from the M r est Coast Associatin was considered: “That the present rule giving power to the referee to disqualify for breaches of the rules be rescinded, and that the old rule be reinstated where the referee has to report to the club or the judicial committee appointed by them.” The remit was carried in an amended form, viz: “That the. referee should have the power- to impose, a fine, but not to disqualify, which case shall be referred to the protest committee.” The conference agreed to the principle of standard times for running and cycling.
A remit from Southland that;. choppers must finish on their logs and on no account strike a blow standing on the ground was carried.
