The activity continued- for at
least ■ half an hour. <r A'peculiarity of this particular mudhole .is that- it became active only once-'-a'-year and generally of- about this pedddv- The / rilder Maoris 'keep .wfi'tch fo'f the activity and they have named it the “New Year’s Greeting.” Tim Fetter-known geysers' at Whakarowarewu have not shdWn any unusual 'activity during the holiday season.
