FARMER’S FOUR" 1 CHILDREN PARENTS SAVE TWO BABIES. VANCOUVER, December 9. ■ Awakened by smoke, Janies Nesbitt, an Edurondton district farmer, and bis wife had just time to seize their two babies and rush from the blazing farmhouse. The flames prevented them dashing in again to rescue their four older children, a girl and three, hoys, who perished. Neighbours who saw the fire also arrived too late to give any assistance, and Mrs Nesbitt was seriously' frostbitten on the hands and feet before she could be carried to shelter. The Canadian praries are experiencing a fierce winter.. The thermometer has dropped to 35 degrees below zero in the city of Winnipeg, and similar fearful temperatures have been recorded at Edmonton and Calgary.
