CORPORATION AND UNEMPLOYED
(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright)
(Received this’day at 1.25 p.m.) LONDON, December 22
Ten policemen were injured, two critically in disturbances at Glasgow after an angry meeting of the corporation, when seven Labourite councillors and a man in the public gallery were ejected by the police for creating a scene, because the corporation refused to receive an unemployed deputation. Many shop windows and motor screens were smashed by rioters in the streets. Women shoppers took refuge in shops, and tradesmen closed their premises, and traffic was at a standstill till the police gained the upper hand.
