OIL TO LAY DUST
SOUTH ROAD EXPERIMENT. AUCKLAND, December 21. Arrangements are being made to experiment with the use of oil for laying, the dust on the Great South Road 'in the Franklin County, where- farmers and other residents complain of damage to pastures and other' inconvenience through the clouds of dust raised by fast-moving ‘ traffic. Three lengths of a few chains' eacli are to be sprayed with, the oil as an experiment, . pne through the Drury township, one. past the Ramarama Junction, and the : other through Pokeno township. A special machine is being obtained by the county engineer, Mr J. F. McArthur, for the work and will probably be available within the next few days. ' '
