DETECTIVE HEAD DISMISSED. (United Press A jsociation—By Electric I cf egraph— Ucpyrigh t.) (Iteceived Dfee. 22nd ! . at 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, December 21. The “Daily Mail’s” Dublin correspondent says Government dismissed, without explanation, Colonel David Neligan, head of tile detective division of the civil guard. Neligan was one of Michael Collins’ lieutenants against the British, and afterwards was intelligence officer of the Free State Army 'against- de Valera’s irregulars. Extremist. Republicans dislike Ncligan and 1 demanded his removal and urged the disbandment of the detective division.
