ARAHUKA STOCK SALE'. The Christmas sale at the above yards wag held yesterday when the yarding comprised 71 head of cattle, 63 lambs and 138 l'at sheep. The attendance of buyers was not so large as usual" and competition was stiexy throughout the sale. There was in consequence ail easing in only the light finished sort s commanding keen attention. Prime ox at no time ■exceeded 20 s per hundred and in many oases it was as low as 18s. Cow beef varied according to quality from 10s to 17s while best heller realised to 17 s 6d. The lambs penned were of medium quality and sold on the basis <)1 4.;d lb. w. .Jeffrie,.; and Co. report .the. following sales:—For l’criy and C ;) - 5 lambs at 13s 6d, 6 at 13s 6d, 1, at 13s. For Condon and Sons 17 wethers at 15s 3d, 91 at 14s. For G. Northcroft 6 steers at £5 ss, 2 heifers at £4 12s 6cl,> 1 cow at £4, 3 cows at £2 10s. For W. H. Chinn and Sons 2 steers at £7 12s 6d, 3 at £7 2s 6d, 2 at. £6 17 s 6d, 5 at £6 12s 6d, 4 at £6 7s 6d, 4 at £6 2 S 63, 2 runners at £4 2s 6d, 2 cows at £3 12s 6d, 1 at £2 17s 63, 2 at £2.
