NO RETURN FOR SEVERAL YEARS (United Press Association—By Flee trio Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, December 19. The “Daily Herald’s” city editor says: Consultations between the Treasury and the Bank of England have resulted /iln a decision that Britain cannot contemplate a return to the gold standard for several years. The payment of gold to the United States has persuaded Mr Montagu Norman that if Britain returned to gold at an early date, she would be*able to remain on it for a brief period only.
