The Council of the League is expected to adourn the matter till January. BEFORE LEAGUE COUNCIL. (Received 9 a.m.) GENEVA, December 19. Reaffirming the desire for . an. amicable, fair, agreement regarding AngloPersian oil, the British Government submitted a long memorandum to the League, .denying the charge that Britain had impeded the agreement. and contending there should have been a resort to arbitration under, article seventeen of the agreement. , As Persia had already decided to notify the Council of Britain’s intimidating, almost threatening attitude in' Persia, we' have no objection to the matter being laid before the council, states the Persian memorandum presented to the Council. It adds that tliere is no reason for urgency, because Persia does not intend to take measures against the Anglo-Persian company pending the agreement.
