H. Lewis. Several months ago Nappatarn reared on tlie training tracks and fractured a pelvis. This usually means the end of a horse’s career, but, as in the- C"-:e of Denis Hoy, efforts were made to save him. The prominent veterinary surgeon, Mr S. 0. Wood, was calhd, mid the result wars s] scientific achievement that will long lie remembered. .Mr Wood took complete control of Nappatarn, and for three months the horse did not leave his stall. During that time lie spent nearly six weeks in slings, raid Mr Wood gave him almost

unremitting attention day and night. His treatment was so successful that within the next few days Nappatara will he placed in work again at Caulfield. Experienced racing men have inspected the horse and have been impressed by the success achieved by Mr Wcocl. They consider that it is one of the most miraculous cases of veterinary treatment they have seen. If will be interesting to watch the future racing career of Nappatara.
