OLD MAN ROBBED BY THIEVES. ' (Australian Press Association ) SYDNEY, December 17. Three masked men burst into tlio home of Mr George Giyne, aged 70, at Stuart Town, New South Wales, about 11 o’clock last night and after giving him a. rough handling bound and gagged him. They then searched his home and decamped with £145 in notes, ten ounces of gold, worth about £BO, and a ring set with opal and topaz. Mr Clyne lives alone in a cottage in n wild and lonely spot in the hills, about two miles out of Stuart Town. There are a number of prospectors in the locality, w lie re small quantities "1 alluvial gold are won. The old man had recently been purchasing gold from the prospectors and had hoarded the proceeds of his transactions in his cottage.
