FRUIT EMBARGO
REPRESENTATIONS TO N Z. Australian Press Association.) (Received 11.20 a.m.( SYDNEY, December 19. The ‘‘Telegraph’s” Melbourne correspondent isays that strong, ,-repesentations have been made by the Commonwealth Government to the New Zealand Government following upon the embargo on Australian fruits. STATEMENT BY MR LATHAM. (Received Deo. 19th. at 9.28 a.m.) December 19.
Mr Latham referring to the New Zealand embargo fruit ( points out that the Commonwealth lias not placed a.n embargo on New Zealand -fruit, hut has only taken a precaution owing IN the prevalence of fireblight in the Dominion.. and to prevent its admission to Australia., which takes a serious' view of New Zealand'** action.
