TWO DROWNED
FATHER AND SON (Pgr Press Association) WHAKATA NE, December ID. A double drowning accident occurred late yesterday afternoon in the Whakatane River at Poroporo, when Willie (Funna) Savage, aged .35, lost liis life attempting to rescue his son, aged i, who got into difficulties while bathing with Native chilctren. The father dived fully clothed and it is surmised Flint he was caught in a snag. The bodies have not yet been recovered.
