THEFT FROM SHOPS
ARTICLES BURIED IN GARDEN. AUCKLAND, December 15. Two boys, aged eight and nine years, have been arrested at De-vonport, following- investigation into petty thefts from a shopkeeper’s till and. a jeweller’s shop. An all-night vigil by constable J. O’Carroll resulted in a youthful intruder being arrested after (a -chase at six -o’clock on Sunday morning. Laiter, another boy was apprehended.
A quantity of small articles of jewellery was found buried in a garden. It iis si*.ted that the jeweller’s shop was entered' by the intruder climbing HP a water pipe to the roof and then dropping into the building through a skylight. Only email articles disappeared from the shop, no money being taken.
