J. von Haast ; at the change which had taken place since their .last visit, his Honour said ; c ‘lt is four months since Mr von Haast and I were last in Napier, and six months since Mr Tripp was here, and -all are delighted aiid astonished at the progress which hag been made in''the restoration, alid not only in the i>estora» t-ioti, but also in the beautifying of thifine little towns of yours. The improvements whch have been made on the waterfront are attractive and delightful; and the buildings which are v eiur erected would be a credit to any town in New Zealand.”
