GOLD STRIKE
A RICH FIND NEAR FEEFTON.

REEFTON, December 14
Prospecting aor gold in the Rappahannock district has revealed a rich strike of gold. Mr John Coglilan, ot Reofton, who spent a few days there, states that gold to the amount of 2azs Bdwts was obtained ’from two kerosene tinfuls wash dirt. This was from a small hole in an old liverbed. He states that the water is, however, very bad, and that the wash-dirt had to be taken out °l the hole with a long-handled shovel. Mr Coglilan states that there is a large extent of country available with good prospects for an extensive mining field. It is an out of the way district, however, and those intending to go there sliould--.be prepared witli food as well as appliances.
