GAOL FOR FORGERY
SENTENCE OF THREE MONTHS

CHRISTCHURCH, December 16. In the Supreme Court, Janies Garfield Heath, on three charges of forgery, was sent to gaol for three months’. ■Heath had pleaded guilty to giving false testimonials when applying for a position. Counsel said that prisoner was thirty-two years of age, and was a married man living apart from his wife. The lapse was due to the influence of had ■ companions. Thiis wa s the man who secured the position of engineer-clerk to, the Kaikoura JdqiiljQbuncil ;■ and held' it for three days.
Judge , Ostler said that forgery was a serious crime.
